Pre School Dance: 30 minute classes that teach children to move with freedom capturing their imaginations.  You child will make new friends, learn to listen and be in a class structure without an adult.  They will be encouraged to be the best they can be by our friendly teachers.  Suitable for under 5 year olds.

Pre Grade 1 & 2 Ballet (New entrants, Year 1 & Year 2): 30 to 40 minute classes that follow the Royal Academy of Dance Ballet syllabus.  Your child will make new friends, grow confidence, have fun, learn good posture, strength, poise, and musicality.  They will be encouraged to be the best they can be by our friendly teachers.  Pre Primary Suitable for Year 1s 5-6 years Primary suitable for year 2s 6-7years

Ballet Royal Academy of Dance Ballet Grade 1 – 5: 1 hour classes that follow the Royal Academy of Ballet syllabus.  Your child will make new friends, grow confidence, have fun, gain better posture, strength, poise, musicality and learn to love the art of dancing,   They will be encouraged to be the best they can be by our friendly teachers.  Students need to attend lessons twice a week if they want to take part in examinations.  Grade 1 suitable for year 3 and above, Grade 2 year 4 and above , Grade 3 year 5 and above, Grade 4 year 6 and above, Grade 5 year 7 and above

NZAMD Jazz & Contemporary: A fun syllabus that encourages students to perform and love dance.  Everybody has the opportunity to sit exams and achieve the next level. Your student will make new friends, grow confidence, have fun, gain better posture, musicality and learn to love the art of dancing,   They will be encouraged to be the best they can be by our friendly teachers. Levels suitable from 4 years to teenagers.

Intermediate Foundation, Intermediate & Advanced Foundations Ballet: Over 1 hour classes that follow the vocational Royal Academy of Dance syllabus. They will have the opportunity to dance on pointe.   Your student will make new friends, grow confidence, posture, strength, poise, musicality and learn to love the art of dancing,   They will be encouraged to be the best they can be by our friendly teachers.  Students need to attend lessons twice a week if they want to take part in examinations.  classes are suitable for secondary school students.

Parent Information:

Parents are encouraged to not watch the classes as this can be a  distraction to the children. Often children can behave differently when parents are in the room and it is also a nice surprise for parents to see what their children have been working on throughout the term at Parents Day. Parents day is held on the last lesson of each term.

 

Adult Classes:

Pilates – 9:30am Monday & Wednesday

Emma will take you through controlled Pilates movements, exploring the foundations of core stability and function using key Pilates principles. With a focus on specific muscles and their function. We’ll explore controlled Pilates movements, usually between 8-10 repetitions, focusing on specific muscles and their function to create core stability and movement efficiencies. All this to engage the body in a functional way to support everyday life.

Ballet – 7:40pm Monday

A Ballet class that will require at least a beginner level of ballet experience.  You will have fun working through the structure of a ballet class.  You will engage all those muscles you had forgotten about.

Senior Swans

Senior Swans provides a unique opportunity for seniors to learn and enjoy ballet in a fun, safe, and supportive environment.  Senior swans offers a classic ballet experience with a joint-friendly-twist – we skip the jumps to protect your precious joints!  Our classes seamlessly integrate strength-building exercises, revitalising stretches, artistic expression, and formal ballet training.
